The New York Knicks sign Myles Powell, a potential undrafted gem
The New York Knicks who are in desperate need of a combo guard has made a step in the right direction in signing guard Myles Powell, a 23-year-old All-American out of Seton Hall. Powell might not be a name the average NBA fan knows, but his resume speaks for himself as he’s had an impact for Seton Hall ever since he stepped onto the court.
During his freshman season, Powell only started two games but still averaged 10.7 points per game while shooting 39 percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range on six attempts per contest. Overall, a very productive freshman season.
Powell came out his sophomore year with something to prove as he would go on to start every game but one in the regular season. Powell began to play the role as a scoring point guard, averaging 15.5 points per game on 43 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3.

During his junior season, Powell averaged 22 points in conference play and 23 points overall as he started every game. He also shot 44 percent from the field and 36 percent from 3-point range. At 6-foot-2, Powell also managed to average six free-throw attempts per game.
Even though the team’s record was only 20-14, Powell and the Pirates made it to the Big East Championship almost stealing the whole tournament but lost the thriller 74-72. They would go on to the NCAA Tournament but lost in the first round to a Wofford.

He still helped lead the Pirates to a 21-9 record, his best record during all four seasons with Seton Hall.
Had it now been for the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Tournament, there’s a very good chance that Powell and Seton Hall would’ve made a splash on the national stage.

Overall you’ve seen the resume, Myles Powell is arguably one of the best Big East conference players ever and the man grew up in New Jersey so he’s been a fan of the Knicks for awhile.
Not to mention that Powell and Obi Toppin use to train other and Powell and the young backcourt of Immanuel Quickley and Powell could potentially do wonders for the Knicks the only question left is does Powell have what it takes to become not just a Seton Hall legend but the ultimate sleeper pickup of all time? Only time will tell.
