Milwaukee Bucks – loser

Notable moves: Acquired Jrue Holiday, signed Bobby Portis, lost Wes Matthews, Robin Lopez, and sign-and-trade for Bogdan Bogdanovic fell through

While some may argue that the Milwaukee Bucks actually had a good offseason, I can’t help but get the thought of the sign-and-trade deal for Bogdan Bogdanovic falling through. The Jrue Holiday (though costly) is a great addition, but I’m not sure that’s enough of a move to move the needles (especially with how the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers have improved).

Losing Wes Matthews will also prove to be costly for this team. Even though he didn’t play extended minutes for the Bucks last season on most, he was one of the only individual defenders that threw Jimmy Butler off his game in their Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The Bucks will still be good and a title contender in the Eastern Conference, but I’m not sure simply adding Holiday and a few other pieces are what will get them over the hump in the East.
