Portland Trail Blazers trade target: Buddy Hield

Again, it may not be a move that moves the needle considerably but it is a move that at least changes things up for the Trailblazers potentially for the better. Buddy Hield has been consistently really good for the Sacramento Kings, however, he just does not seem to be getting along with current Kings head coach Luke Walton.

While it is a footrace to see who makes it out the door first Walton or Hield, there is a decent chance that it will be Buddy Hield who will be shown the door first. This is a far cry from the love in which Hield was shown when he traded for from the Pelicans in 2016.

Lauded by ownership as the next Steph Curry, he was the apple of Sacramento Kings Chairman Vivek Ranadive’s eye. It seems that the front office thinks differently now and does not see Hield as part of the team’s long term future. The King’s loss could be Portlands gain. Hield next to Lillard would be a beautiful pairing.

Hield is one of the best 3-point shooters in the league, he can go off at any given time and is in desperate need of a change of scenery. Portland could be that new location that would allow for Hield to reach new heights. Hield wouldn’t be coming to Portland alone.

Jabari Parker the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft has not lived up to the hype but he is still a more than serviceable NBA player. If Portland decides to move on from Carmelo Anthony this stands as a decent replacement in terms of scoring.
