Portland Trail Blazers trade target: James Harden

Save the biggest swing of all for last and holy crap is this a swing. The Trail Blazers need a seismic shift if they want to ever be considered title contenders. This is that shift that is needed for them to be considered in the conversation of title favorites.

James Harden and Damian Lillard. That is the stuff of nightmares for opposing defenses. And want to know what the scarier thing is?

If they can move Nurkic and Covington, they have a potential third max slot. Giannis, Harden, and Lillard. Now that would potentially be the scariest big 3 in NBA history. It would potentially even dwarf what the Nets are trying to now in terms of getting Harden.

There would be no ball sticking. Lillard passes, Giannis passes and Harden passes and they are all capable of shooting when necessary. It would require the Trail Blazers virtually emptying all their assets to even get in the conversation but it would put them in a place to compete for years to come.

It is arguable that the package offered is still not enough to get Harden but it would be enough to get them to the table to speak. The Rockets get an All-Star and a bunch of young prospects and picks to restart things in Houston.
