San Antonio Spurs

What to be thankful for: Trust for the front office

The San Antonio Spurs have been one of the quietest teams in the NBA through the first week and a half of the offseason. Yet, there might not be a franchise that has earned more trust than this one from fans and the media.

If this were any other franchise, many would be questioning their approach to the offseason thus far. But because it’s the Spurs, they’re given the benefit of the doubt. They should be thankful for that.

Toronto Raptors

What to be thankful for: Fred VanVleet re-signing with the team

The Toronto Raptors may have missed out on re-signing Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol but they managed to keep Fred VanVleet still on the roster. Even though it cost them a hefty amount of money, the Raptors will now be able to enter a potential free-agent pitch meeting with Giannis with Pascal Siakam and VanVleet in their pockets.

Who knows if that will be good enough to flip Giannis away from Milwaukee, but it’s certainly better than a few of his other potential suitors.
