Dallas Mavericks

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic. Need I say more?

A soon to be 26-year-old Giannis and a sooner to be 22-year-old Luka Doncic on the same team, in their prime?  Now that has all the makings of a dynasty.

The scary thing is that it would take pretty much one move for the Mavericks to be able to have Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and Kristaps Porzingis all on the same team. If they were to move on from Dwight Powell for cap relief they would have the necessary space to sign Giannis to a max contract and additional room to sign Luka to a max deal when the time comes also.

If the Mavericks felt iffy about Porzingis long term health, it is very possible they could trade him for another piece to solidify the Mav’s.

The Mavericks could also potentially go the LeBron James Miami Heat route and empty the roster and potentially make room for a third max player. Extremely unlikely but Mark Cuban has never been afraid to spend money.

  • C Kristaps Porzingis
  • PF Giannis Antetokounmpo
  • SF Kawhi Leonard
  • SG Josh Green
  • PG Luka Doncic

Even if it were just Luka, Giannis, and KP, it would be an incredible big 3. An international big 3 filled with skill, basketball IQ, and switchability.

A contender for the next decade.

There would be concerns about floor spacing with both Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo both being poor 3-point shooters. If neither player can figure that out that could really dampen the potential of the team.
