Three reasons why the Los Angeles Lakers will repeat as NBA champions in 2021

Even after acquiring Anthony Davis, there weren’t many that believed the Los Angeles Lakers would win the 2019-20 NBA championship. After an unprecedented season, which involved a four-month hiatus, that’s exactly what happened.

Heading into the 2020-21 season, LeBron James and the Lakers will be looking to repeat as champions. Interestingly enough, the Lakers might be bigger favorites than they were last season. Generally, repeating as champions is harder than winning the first championship. We’ll see if that remains true for a team like the Lakers.

Even after winning a championship, the Lakers were one of the most active teams during the offseason – during the trade market before and after the NBA Draft and into the start of free agency.
