Five NBA superstars with the most to prove in 2020-21

On Tuesday, December 22, the 2020-21 NBA campaign is scheduled to tip-off. Training camps are expected to open later this week, with preseason games taking place not soon after. Heading into the regular season, we take a look at five superstars that will have plenty to prove.

Giannis Antetokounmp, Milwaukee Bucks

The two-time reigning NBA MVP has a lot to prove this upcoming year. Back-to-back disappointing playoff exits have taken some of the luster away from his superstar status.

Rumblings are beginning to disseminate that he is incapable of being the leader of a championship team and that he would be better suited as a franchise’s second option. His regular-season numbers, no matter how gaudy they are, will have no bearing on whether his year will be considered successful or not.

Giannis Antetokounmpo will be a judge on how he and the Milwaukee Bucks perform in the playoffs. Anything short of the Eastern Conference Finals will be considered a failure. If things don’t work out Antetokounmpo will likely be looking for a new home the following offseason.
