Los Angeles Lakers
I didn’t think the team that won the championship could get better this offseason, but they did. Keeping forward Anthony Davis for another year was critical, but upgrading at every position for an aging team was necessary.
Rob Pelinka looked like he was building a 2K team to play against opponents online this offseason. He was able to steal Montrezl Harrell from the Los Angeles Lakers biggest rival in the Clippers, sign veteran center Marc Gasol, sign 3-and-D player Wes Matthews and get Dennis Schroder in a trade.
With LeBron getting up in age and the wear and tear on his body increasing, it was critical to get a deeper team so LeBron can take load management games. He proved if he is fresh and healthy during playoff time he can lead a team to a championship.
