Minnesota Timberwolves

At the end of last season, Minnesota was able to get D’Angelo Russell in a trade with Golden State, pairing All-Star center Karl Anthony-Towns with an all-star guard. With the first pick in the draft, they selected Anthony Edwards out of Georgia. Most people expected them to do that, but the surprise was when they reacquired Ricky Rubio in a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Rubio is a pass-first point guard that you will see throw alley-oops to Edwards, and he will also make sure Towns and Russell get easy shots. Rubio has had trouble staying healthy in the past, but if he does he will make them one of the best offensive teams in the league.

The biggest question for Minnesota will be if they can play defense. The Timberwolves acquired Argentina sensation Leandro Bolmaro, who can play several positions. They also drafted Jayden McDaniels, a young power forward who will have to compete with Juancho Hernangomez for minutes at the forward position. Malik Beasley should help on that front too.

For a team that has been synonymous with losing they might be on the right track.
