Pascal Siakam’s first playoff run as the Toronto Raptors’ go-to player didn’t go well. His points per game went down along with his shooting percentage. Going forward, if the franchise chooses to build the team around him, he will have to find a reliable go-to move for the playoffs when the game slows down.

They lost most of the frontcourt from their championship team when Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol went to the Clippers and Lakers. They were able to sign veteran big man Aron Baynes and forward DeAndre’ Bembry.

Bembry fits in with the other athletic players they have with OG Anunoby, Chris Boucher, and Siakam. The number one goal in the offseason was bringing Fred VanVleet back, and they did when he became the highest-paid undrafted player of all-time, signing a four-year deal worth $85 million.

The Raptors also selected Malachi Flynn with the 29th pick of the draft. Flynn looks like a player that could help the Raptors, whether it’s this season or down the line, we’ll have to wait and see. The Raptors will continue to be competitive next season.
