NBA Offseason Grades: Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns make bold moves
Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn didn’t need to make any drastic changes to their team on the floor, but getting a new coach that the players accepted was a priority. They did that when they hired hall of fame point guard Steve Nash to be the coach of the Brooklyn Nets.
With Nash, his former coach Mike D’Antoni was brought in to be an assistant coach along with his former teammate Amar’e Stoudemire, who was hired as the player development coach. Long-time Spur assistant Ime Udoka joined the Nets as an assistant coach and Jacque Vaughn who did a good job as interim coach last season, will be back as the assistant coach/director of player development.
They have the roster and the basketball minds now it’s all about putting it together. They will probably hear James Harden trade rumors all season and it hasn’t been determined how Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Caris LeVert will play together. Adding Harden another ball-dominant player who isn’t known for his defense could be a disaster.
