NBA Trade Rumors: Bucks, Heat are now on James Harden’s trade wishlist
As we inch closer and closer to the start of the 2020-21 NBA season, you can bet that the Houston Rockets would like a resolution to the James Harden situation sooner rather than later. Whether that’s him reporting to camp and joining the team or if that’s finding a trade that would appease both Harden and the team.
Interestingly enough, over the past couple of days, it’s been reported that James Harden’s trade wishlist is extended beyond just the Brooklyn Nets. According to reports, the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Miami Heat are also included on his list of preferred trade destinations.
This makes a lot of sense to see the Heat on this “list.” Miami is an up-and-coming contender and is coming off a run towards the NBA Finals in the NBA’s restart bubble. The Heat has a couple of young assets on the roster and would just need to find a few first-round picks to offer in an attempt to put together a legit offer.
Would Miami’s offer be better than one the Philadelphia 76ers or Brooklyn Nets can put together? It’s tough to say, but they could potentially create a competitive offer.
You can’t help but wonder if the Bucks are feeling a little buyer’s remorse after trading three first-round picks, among other pieces, for Jrue Holiday earlier this offseason. Perhaps buyer’s remorse is not the appropriate wording, but as it stands they might not have enough assets to appease Houston to acquire Harden.
That’s OK, but if the Bucks don’t pursue Harden and he gets traded to another Eastern Conference contender, ther’es going to be a sense of “what if” at some point this season. Even more so if Milwaukee loses Giannis in free agency next offseason.
It’s tough to say where this report is stemming from. Is it coming from James Harden’s camp or the Houston Rockets’ camp? Generally, it’s coming from one of the two parties. At this point, it’s tough. Harden seems to want a trade, and perhaps desperately. The Rockets seem to want a resolution.
There doesn’t seem to be a trade imment, but it’s become more and more likely that one will get done at some point over the next few weeks. Where will James Harden land? At this point, it’s tough to predict.
