NBA Trade Rumors: Ranking rumored trade packages for James Harden

Less than two weeks away from the official start of the 2020-21 NBA season and James Harden has still not participated in a Houston Rockets training camp practice. And it’s currently unclear if he ever plans to do so.

What we do know is that he prefers a trade and there is a reported list of four teams that he’d be open to joining. According to a recent report from Shams Charania, the four teams that Harden would be open to be traded to is the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, and Milwaukee Bucks.

Of course, it’s just not a decision that’s up to Harden. The Rockets have most of the power at this point, especially considering that Harden has two years (at least) remaining on his contract. He has a player option for that third season. As much as Harden would like to force Houston’s hand, this decision will ultimately come down to the Rockets.

Assuming that there won’t be many other teams willing to empty their asset chest if James Harden isn’t willing to buy-in, we will rank the four teams that he’s open to playing for and their potential trade packages that they could put together.

Which team could put together the best trade package in an attempt to land James Harden? We explore.
