DaQuan Jeffries, forward

Unless you’re a Sacramento Kings fan, the name DaQuan Jeffries probably means very little to you. Jeffries is a young prospect who went undrafted in 2019 before scraping his way into the Kings roster on a two-way deal.

From here he contributed enough to impress the front office who gave him his first proper contract. The two-year, $3 million dollar deal is a declaration of support from the Kings. They believe Jeffries is a legitimate NBA player who can contribute to the success of the team.

For the first time in his career, Jeffries will enter training camp with a guaranteed roster spot, but this doesn’t take the pressure off. If anything, this season is the most important of his career so far. This is his chance to prove he belongs in the league. If he takes this opportunity with both hands then this could be the start of a very solid career for the young wing.

This goes both ways though. With three new rookies to contend with, as well as a new influx of free agents, Jeffries will have his work cut out if he is to secure regular minutes. He must prove that he is a top 10 player on this Kings roster, else his career my dwindle before it’s even begun.

No pressure.
