NBA Trade Rumors: The Miami Heat should be all-in on James Harden

Earlier this week, it was reported that James Harden‘s “wishlist” had been extended to include the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat, in addition to the already reported Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. This only adds to the intrigue as Harden’s situation with the Houston Rockets continues to spiral out of control.

For the Heat, it adds an interesting element to their immediate future. For years, the Heat has done what they could to get in the room with Giannis Antetokounmpo during the summer of 2021. Less than a year away, the Heat is now set up to be in that position, unless Giannis elects to sign his supermax extension. He has until December 22 to do so.

However, assuming that there’s, at the very least, a slim opportunity to acquire James Harden via trade, the Heat has to explore the idea. Question is, should they try to pull the trigger on Harden, or should they stand pat (no pun attended) and follow through with the plan that they’ve been setting up for years?

Does this even have to be a Giannis or Harden decision?

Either way, we will explore three reasons why the Miami Heat should be all-in on pursuing James Harden, even if it comes at the expense of being officially eliminated from the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes.
