Ranking every NBA Finals series since 1990

How have you spent your 2020 quarantine year? I read things about people using their downtime to master an instrument, become fluent in a second language, complete home improvement projects, or learn to cook. I thought about doing something like that, but instead spent most of this year watching every NBA Finals game since 1990 because, well, why not?

As someone who has now watched every NBA Finals game that the depths of the internet would give me, spanning 31 years, 174 games, 11 different champions, five U.S. presidents, and 14 terrible ‘Fast and Furious’ movies, I am now a self-proclaimed NBA Finals historian from 1990-2020. That’s not exactly resume-worthy, but giving myself the title helps me rationalize all the hours spent watching these games.

So, if you ever wanted to go back and watch old NBA Finals games, don’t be like me. Instead, use this as a guide to finding out which games/series are worth watching, and which ones should be classified as cruel and unusual punishment.
