Christmas wishlist: A healthy Kristaps Porzingis

For the Dallas Mavericks, who many could see taking a huge step in the progression during the 2020-21 NBA season, what they should be hoping for this Christmas season is a full bill of health for Kristaps Porzingis.

Kristaps, when healthy, is one of the NBA’s greatest unicorns. However, for much of his career, he’s been hampered by injury after injury. If he can stay healthy, the Mavs are truly a dangerous team in the Western Conference. A Luka Doncic and Kristaps duo is not something any other team, apart from maybe the Los Angeles Lakers, can match.

Plus, Doncic is still only scratching the surface of the player that he can be at the NBA level. Many believe that the Mavs are still two or three years away from being a true contender in the Western Conference. However, if they can remain healthy and if they can continue to grow as a team, I have a feeling that this team will have the ability to finish in the top three of the Western Conference this season.
