NBA MVP candidate: Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

Some may argue that the Los Angeles Lakers are LeBron James‘s team but AD is who makes them dangerous. Davis led the team in points and rebounds and also was the Lakers’ top defender as his impact on the team is evident from their championship run last season.

It’s understandable how AD can be easily overshadowed by LeBron by being the brightest and most recognizable superstar in the game but Davis is the player the Lakers depend on the most. Let’s not forget  the enormous jump in the standings the Lakers made after the addition of  AD going from 10th to No. 1 in the West.

On top of that, AD can do it all and has numerous weapons in his arsenal. He has a mean post game, a dangerous mid-range jump shot, can make 3-pointers, is consistent at the charity stripe and is an absolute monster on the defensive end. Also factor in that AD  is really just now entering his prime years and the sky is the limit for him.
