5. Christian Wood, Houston Rockets

Christian Wood went undrafted in 2015 out of University of Nevada- Las Vegas and had bounced around the league early on in his career, having stints in the NBA and the G League. However, this 6-foot-10 forward found a home last season on the Detroit Pistons, where he saw an increased role after Andre Drummond was traded at the trade deadline.

Last season with the Pistons, he averaged 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game with shooting splits of nearly 57 percent from the field and about 39 percent from 3-point range. Also, during his last 10 games of the 2019-20 season, he averaged over 24 points and nearly 10 rebounds per contest.

Christian Wood is going to be an offensive beast, and I believe he will be the NBA’s Most Improved Player of the Year this season.

I believe that this NBA season will definitely be one to remember, especially with the new season occurring amid a global pandemic. I believe that offense will come in bunches this season from all over the league, and I look forward to seeing how it unfolds.
