2. Pascal Siakam
This year will be crucial for Pascal Siakam, and he knows it.
The Raptors’ all-star didn’t look quite like himself in the Disney bubble, especially during the playoffs. It’s necessary growing pains for a talented young player. What is important is how Siakam rallies from this adversity.
The Raptors are going to continue using Siakam as a primary and feed him the ball a ton. He always looks dominant against middling teams, but at times has faded when facing stronger competition. Siakam will be deadly if he finds the right formula to produce against different styles of defenders and defensive schemes. Consistency and versatility will be key for him this year.
He needs to tweak his game a bit by adding counter moves, and a more reliable 3-point shot. Easier said than done. There is cause for optimism though. Siakam has improved his game each year during his time in the league. He has become better as a ball-handler, added a 3-point shot, and increased his playmaking ability.
Now is the time to elevate his game to a top-tier level.
