Chicago Bulls: Could Zach LaVine be the next star to demand a trade?
Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine could be the next star to demand a trade
Just a week into the 2020-21 NBA season, there are several storylines that have already begun to take shape. With the biggest still being the James Harden situation. He wants out of Houston, but the Rockets still haven’t found a good landing spot for him.
As Harden continues to steal the headlines when it comes to stars that want to leave their current teams, there’s another team that could quickly jump into the limelight on this front next. One team to keep a close eye on as we head deeper into the new season is the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls have gotten off to an 0-3 start to the season and haven’t looked all that impressive in any of their games. While not many expected the Bulls to be extremely competitive in the Eastern Conference by any means, it’s quite underwhelming that Chicago has gotten off to another disappointing start.

Under new head coach Billy Donovan, there was a slight hope that the Bulls could emerge as a surprising dark horse team in the East. Because of their young, talented roster and with the presence of Zach LaVine, the Bulls are somewhat set up to be more of a playoff contender than a lottery team.
That simply hasn’t been the case thus far.
The Bulls lost their first two games by 20 and 19 points, respectively, and are coming off a close loss to the Golden State Warriors, who have been far from world-beaters this season.
If something doesn’t change for Chicago soon, it could bring about some internal pressure from LaVine, who at this point in his career is ready to win and not still be in a rebuilding process. While LaVine hasn’t publically stated this or even privately suggested it (from what is public record), this is generally what we’ve seen time and time before a star becomes disgruntled with his current situation.
LaVine is currently starting his fourth season with the Bulls and through three games is averaging 24 points on 47 percent shooting from the field and 31 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s also still only 25 years old. He’s the type of talent that nearly every team in the NBA would want, even if he isn’t a pure No. 1 in today’s game.
Even though the “clock” might not be ticking on the Chicago Bulls, they better hope that one isn’t ticking in the mind of Zach LaVine.
