Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors

As an expiring contract, it’s easy to see why Kyle Lowry would be one of the first “stars” to fall in this category. Considering his age and the likelihood that he’ll walk elsewhere in free agency during the offseason, if the Toronto Raptors continue to struggle through the next month there’s a good chance he could be traded by the NBA Trade Deadline.

Lowry is still a good player but simply in a position where he can carry a franchise anymore, at least without a bit more help than he currently has in Toronto. The Raptors as a team are 2-6 and while have flashed their potential here and there, look like a flawed team that might have reached its ceiling.

Lowry is still an incredibly productive player, averaging 19 points and seven assists per game this season. He’d carry a good amount of value on the trade block and would likely return a strong asset or two for Toronto to build with.

This might not be the Raptors’ year and the quicker they realize it, the quicker we could see a player like Kyle Lowry on the trade block.
