Brooklyn Nets: Forget fit, Brooklyn is going to overwhelm with offensive talent
The Brooklyn Nets are going to overwhelm with offensive talent; the rest might not matter
As soon as the Brooklyn Nets acquired James Harden, one of the first questions asked was whether this trio of ball-dominant players could coexist and if they’d be a good fit together. Through two games, I think we can put those questions to bed.
Even if Kyrie Irving has yet to play a minute with Harden. Simply put, the Nets are going to have the opportunity to be historic on the offensive end.
Even before acquiring Harden, the Nets already had one of the best offenses in the league. With Harden, the Nets have become overwhelming. Brooklyn now has three of the most unstoppable offensive players in league history in its starting 5.

Through Harden’s first two games in Brooklyn, he’s been absolutely vintage. In two games, Harden is averaging 33 points, 13 assists, and nine rebounds per game on 48 percent shooting from the field. It’s unlikely that Harden will continue to average 30 points per game when Kyrie makes his return, but this is just how dangerous this starting 5 is going to be.
On any given night, any three of these players will be able to drop 30 or 40 points. Even if this Nets trio fails to figure out how to play off each other, this team is going to be extremely dangerous because if its near unstoppable offensive fire power.
Because of their potential on that end of the floor, the Nets will never be out of any game and will always be a threat to comeback even on the best team defenses in the league. On paper, you can make the argument that there might not be any team in the league that will be able to keep up with them offensively while also being a threat on the defensive end, with perhaps the exception of the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers.
Even then, most of that thinking is based off respect to LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The scary part about this team is that Kevin Durant is only going to get better and more comfortable as the season drags on.
The Brooklyn Nets might be the most dangerous offensive team in NBA history, on paper. Through two games, though, they’ve proven they will be able to make this work with James Harden and Kevin Durant. This team is only going to get more dangerous as Kyrie Irving gets back into the rotation.
