Jalen Suggs: The other No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft
By Evan Wheeler
Final thoughts
Again, I’m not trying to convince you that Suggs should be the No. 1 pick in next year’s draft or that he should be chosen over either Cunningham or Mobley. But I do think he’s got a very valid argument as to why he deserves to be in the discussion with his two fellow freshman sensations as the prized possession of the 2021 class.
Ultimately, I think Cunningham is the safest bet of the three to become a franchise-changing talent and probably should be most team’s top choice. Even with that said, Suggs has put himself in a position to make a serious case as to why teams should choose him instead.
If anything, he may not go first overall in the 2021 NBA Draft but Jalen Suggs has the DNA to become a franchise player for whatever lucky team he ends up with and will help usher in the next great era of lead guards alongside Cunningham.
