Brooklyn Nets’ free-agent target: Trevor Ariza

This crop of players will definitely need voices and the more veteran presences the merrier. They will also need defenders and shooters. Trevor Ariza checks all of those boxes. The 16-year veteran has been all around the league. He’s won an NBA championship with Kobe Bryant and James Harden enjoyed the best season of his career with Ariza on the wings.

He didn’t report to the NBA Bubble to help the Portland Trail Blazers’ late push, but his last appearance as a pro should show he still has something in the tank.

Ariza’s been a buyout candidate since draft night, so that’d have to occur first. If and when it does, Brooklyn should look to bring him in. You can never have too many 3-and-D players or proven veterans. This would be a really good fit, as Ariza has reached the ring chasing stage of his career, and it’d put him in a much better position than the rebuild brewing in Oklahoma City.
