Brooklyn Nets’ free-agent target: Jamal Crawford

I find it hard to believe that Jamal Crawford couldn’t contribute and help power a contender’s second team. There’s no way. Even with his 41st birthday approaching, Crawford still holds value. One of the best sixth men of all-time, Crawford can still score in spurts. Not only does Brooklyn lack that now, as their depth has been cut by the blockbuster trade, they also lack another proven ball handler.

Crawford’s last meaningful appearance as a pro was amazing.

There’s no way he wouldn’t provide a spark to this team. I’m sure Kyrie Irving and James Harden can dribble enough, but Crawford would give this second team a jolt, as he’s done throughout his whole career.

He’ll be a liability defensively, but he won’t be in the game for that. He’ll play for his buckets, and in a capped, limited role, he could be really effective for this Nets team. I feel the same way about Isaiah Thomas, but bringing this Seattle legend back instead would be the better move.
