2. Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat, 12/4/09

Kobe got really clinical during the winter of 2009.

On Jay-Z’s birthday, the Mamba welcomed Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat to town for a clash of the two best shooting guards in the league. They had a bit in common, but two distinctive games. They both enjoyed the presence of Shaquille O’Neal. Wade had just wrestled the scoring title from Kobe months prior, but the Mamba would laugh last this time around.

Both superstars were cold throughout the night but saved their best for the fourth quarter. Miami hadn’t beat the Lakers in five years, but Wade was determined to change that. After finding Quentin Richardson for a 3, Wade would score the next eight points to give the Heat a four-point lead.

A huge shot from the veteran Derek Fisher would trim it to one. Wade had flawless until this point, but he missed a timely free throw, and the lead would be two. With three seconds left, a 3 would win the game. After breaking a free of a double-team, Kobe would find a spot and somehow glass in a floating 3 over D-Wade for the win.
