Denver Nuggets
Denver is a team on the cusp of contending. While they certainly have the talent to make it far, they just feel like they are a couple of pieces off being a championship team. Lonzo Ball may be one of those missing pieces.
It may seem difficult to fit Ball in on a team that is stacked with point guard talent, including Jamal Murray, Monte Morris, RJ Hampton, and Facundo Campazzo. However, one of the team’s point guards would likely have to be traded to the Pelicans (along with someone like Gary Harris or Will Barton).
While this may seem like a blow to Denver, losing someone like Hampton and Harris would not be a major downer for someone like Lonzo Ball. The young guard is a good playmaker, defender, and all-around player that would fit the Nuggets system well.
Playing him alongside Nikola Jokic would increase the ball movement and playmaking ability of this Nuggets team while allowing Jamal Murray to take fewer responsibilities as a playmaker. This move could see Murray flourish as a scorer much as he did in the Bubble.
The Nuggets would benefit with Murray playing off the ball, while the two initiators make the plays happen.
