NBA Trade Deadline candidate: JaVale McGee, Cleveland Cavaliers
After acquiring Jarrett Allen in the James Harden blockbuster trade earlier this month, there’s a good chance that the Cleveland Cavaliers elect to move one (or perhaps two or three) of their bigs in the weeks leading up to the NBA Trade Deadline.
One player that is almost a lock to either be moved or bought out is JaVale McGee. Assuming that the Cavs will be featuring Allen and Kevin Love (whenever he returns) more as the season goes on, McGee could see his role with the team dwindle.
McGee isn’t a player that is going to change the ceiling for any team, but he can add depth to any frontcourt and would bring rebounding and effort to a rotation. McGee could make sense for a team such as the Brooklyn Nets, who will likely be looking for any rotation-capable players at the trade deadline.
