NBA Trade Deadline candidate: J.J. Redick, New Orleans Pelicans
It’s already been reported that the New Orleans Pelicans are shopping J.J. Redick (along with Lonzo Ball and perhaps Eric Bledsoe) and if that report is indeed true, there should be a number of teams, specifically contenders, interested in making a deal.
Redick is not having a great shooting year thus far, but over the course of his career, he’s been an above-average 3-point shooter. He’s come through in the playoffs before and has experience on that front. He is not as bad as a defender as he was at the beginning of his career and would be a good floor-spacer for any team looking for an extra shooter.
Assuming that the Pelicans aren’t asking for too much, Redick should be one of the bigger names to be traded at the NBA Trade Deadline. And it’s likely that he’s going to find his way to one of the contenders.
