NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors, Bulls interested in Lonzo Ball
NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors, Bulls eyeing Lonzo Ball
Heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, the New Orleans Pelicans are expected to be one of the teams. For better or worse, buyers or sellers, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one or two Pelicans on the move before the deadline.
It was recently reported that the Pelicans were reportedly shopping a couple of their players, including Lonzo Ball. Ball is expected to hit restricted free agency after this season and it’s become clear that the Pelicans don’t have plans on re-signing Ball. Trying to get some return on him before the offseason would be ideal.
According to a report from ESPN, two teams that are reportedly interested in Lonzo Ball are the Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors.

Ball was acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers as part of a blockbuster deal centered around Anthony Davis two offseasons ago.
Even though Ball hasn’t lived up to his draft spot, he’s still a solid rotation player in today’s game. In the right place, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him grow and take another step in his progression.
Ball is only 23 years old and is averaging 13 points and five assists per game this season. While he’s not having the efficient shooting season as last season, it should be noted that he shot 38 percent from 3 on nearly six attempts last season.
Getting a fresh start on a team like the Warriors or Bulls could go a long way in resetting the clock for Ball. Since entering the league, he was facing expectations that were going to be too high to meet, no matter which team he played for.
I’m not sure what Lonzo Ball’s ceiling should be at this point in his career, but he’s still relatively young and would benefit from falling out of the spotlight for a minute. Ball has great tools and the potential to be a solid starter or backup point guard.
At the very least, he should be able to play a meaningful role for a contender in the NBA. There’s no reason to believe that he’s played his best basketball just yet.
