Should the Toronto Raptors trade for Andre Drummond?
Even though the Toronto Raptors haven’t completely fallen off in the Eastern Conference – they’re currently ranked 8th in the East and 2.0 games back of the 4th seed – it’s safe to say that no one is going to label this team as a contender heading into the playoff push.
One big decision that the Raptors need to make over the course of the next couple of weeks is how they’re going to attack the NBA Trade Deadline. It’s a little more than a month away, and the Raptors will likely be active – whether that’s as a buyer or a seller.
Question is, how will Toronto approach it. It’s still somewhat of an unknown, however, it’s now been reported that the team is expected to show interest in Andre Drummond. According to a report from The Ringer, the Raptors could trade for Drummond at the trade deadline.
In the final year of his contract with the Raptors, Drummond is averaging 19 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists on 48 percent shooting from the field. Would he be a good fit on the Raptors? And, perhaps more importantly, is this a move that they should make?
We explore three reasons why I believe trading for Andre Drummond is the wrong move for the Toronto Raptors.
