Andre Drummond trade destinations Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have been an offensively dominant team since the trade for James Harden, which was always going to be the case. Having a team comprising of Kyrie Irving, James Harden and Kevin Durant are not going to struggle on the offensive end at all, considering the three players are three of the greatest scorers in the current NBA.
However, where Brooklyn has struggled is on the defensive end, ranking 28th in the league for points allowed per game. While their offensive play can usually get them out of trouble, their poor defensive play has seen the team already lose some games that they probably should have won.
Since losing Jarrett Allen, the Nets have been missing their big body inside the paint to swat away shots and disrupt the opposition. This is where Andre Drummond could come in handy.
Drummond is a terrific shot-blocker, averaging 1.2 blocks per game this season and around 1.5 blocks per contest in his career. He also would be the defensive anchor for the Nets and provide a presence in the paint to disrupt the opposition. His offensive abilities are limited, as he is known for posting up and being unable to space the floor, however, Durant, Harden, and Irving will definitely pick up his slack.
Much like the Raptors, getting Drummond to the Nets through trade would be near impossible. Due to the massive size of the superstar trio’s contracts, not many other players on the team would provide a contract worthy of matching Drummond’s in a trade.
Acquiring Drummond through trade may come at the cost of Joe Harris or DeAndre Jordan, but getting one of the best defenders and big men on the trade block would be beneficial for a Nets team who must win now.
