NBA big-names most likely to be traded: Lonzo Ball
When it was reported that the New Orleans Pelicans were interested in moving Lonzo Ball, I was hesitant on whether to believe it entirely. Despite his inconsistencies, Ball is still an above-average NBA player and likely still has his best basketball still in front of him.
Lonzo Ball is still only 23 years old and is averaging 14 points, five assists, and four rebounds on 42 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range. He might not be the perfect point guard prospect and still struggles with turnovers and his jump shot but is not at the point where a team should completely give up on him.
All that said, the only way it made sense that the Pelicans were looking to move Ball was if they had already made the decision that they weren’t going to re-sign him to an extension. Lonzo Ball is set to be a restricted free agent after the season. Maybe the Pelicans have already decided they aren’t willing to invest in him moving forward?
