NBA big-names most likely to be traded: Andre Drummond
Andre Drummond is probably the player on this list that I’m most confident gets moved at the NBA Trade Deadline. Drummond is in the final year of his contract and is playing at a high level for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s also a player that likely isn’t a part of Cleveland’s long-term plans. It just makes sense for both sides.
During his first full season in Cleveland, Drummond is averaging 18 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists per game on 47 percent shooting from the field. If any team is looking for a rental along the frontcourt, they shouldn’t look any further.
While there are questions about Drummond’s ability to play a big role for a contender in the modern NBA, I don’t think it is as big of a risk in using him as a rental for the remainder of this season than signing him to a long-term extension.
Drummond will be traded ahead of the deadline. It’s simply a question of where he will land at this point.
