NBA: 6 biggest snubs of the 2021 All-Star teams
With a very impromptu All-Star break just around the corner, let’s take a look at this season’s biggest snubs from the All-Star teams.
The NBA has just recently announced that an All-Star game will be played this coming March, and with that comes the nominations of the various players across the league who have shined above the rest. However, All-Star nominations are almost never perfect and notoriously leave behind some of the most deserving candidates.
It’s time to see just who exactly got snubbed this season.
NBA All-Star snubs: Domantas Sabonis, Indiana Pacers
With the recent departure of Victor Oladipo to Houston, Domantas Sabonis has been vital to the success of this Indiana Pacers team. Currently the 4th seed in the East, Sabonis has been consistently putting up double-double figures night in and night out while shooting over 50 percent from the field.
Indiana is a very talented team, which could counterintuitively be a reason against his case to be in Atlanta this year. Nevertheless, Sabonis is a bona fide franchise player, and now the sole franchise cornerstone with Oladipo on the outs.
It is needless to say that 21 points and 11 boards a game on a top 5 team in the conference is a clear case for all-star contention. There really is not much to go on about other than simply stating he should have made the roster this season just as he did the year before.
