NBA All-Star snubs: Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns

Arguably the most criminally snubbed player (in multiple seasons for that matter) in the history of the NBA. Devin Booker just barely made the All-Star lineup last season due to an injured Damian Lillard needing a replacement. The same could be said for this season barring an injured related absence from superstar Anthony Davis.

While there’s still hope for him this year, Devin Booker hasn’t averaged less than 24 in a season since 2017 yet he only has a single All-Star nomination to show for it. While this is mainly due to his Phoenix Suns’ lack of success throughout the years, the team is on fire right now holding the 4th seed in the west.

What hits the eyes the wrong way even more so is the fact that Booker’s teammate, Chris Paul, whom the Suns just recently acquired via trade this offseason, has made the All-Star game over his young and up and coming teammate. CP3 is a phenomenal player and has much to do with the team’s success, but it is in Devin Booker where the Suns find their spirit and momentum.

D-Book is shooting just under the 50, 40, 90 club’s standards while averaging right below 25 a game. Both the league and fans as a whole need to take a closer look at what Booker and the Suns are capable of and give them the respect they deserve.
