Notable NBA games to look forward to in the second half of the schedule: April 10, Brooklyn Nets vs. Los Angeles Lakers
The game of all games this season. LeBron James. Kevin Durant. Anthony Davis. James Harden. Kyrie Irving. In what could most definitely be the future matchup for this year’s NBA Finals, this showdown between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers will be a battle of the ages.
Brooklyn was already a favorite to win the East going into the 2021 season, but after acquiring former MVP James Harden from Houston the Nets made it very clear what they were about: winning it all. Many were concerned with how three ball-dominant stars could all play well together on the same court, but Nets coach Steve Nash has shown that it can be done and done incredibly well.
The Nets are the 2nd seed in the East and, when completely healthy, have all the momentum in the world to go all the way. There really is only one person who could foreseeably get in the way of the Nets’ first franchise championship, and that person is none other than the best player in the league: LeBron James.
King James is having what many are saying is an MVP caliber season with the Lakers sitting comfortably among the best in the West. Bron and Anthony Davis are arguably the best duo in the NBA and have the edge in size over the backcourt-dominant Nets. However, Kevin Durant is the best scorer in the league. It is going to take all of the Lakers’ defensive capabilities to not only silence him but Harden and Kyrie as well.
This will be the ultimate test for both these teams. Whether you’re a Nets fan, a Lakers fan, or a fan of any of the 30 NBA teams, this is a game you simply cannot miss if you value some good basketball.
With the All-Star break around the corner, we still have a whole lot of basketball left to be played. There are plenty of other huge games and entertaining matchups aside from the aforementioned, so be sure to check out the second half of the NBA schedule to see when it’s time to kick back and enjoy the show.
