NBA Trade Rumors: The Brooklyn Nets could move Spencer Dinwiddie at the trade deadline.
Since acquiring James Harden, there hasn’t been a more impressive team in the NBA than the Brooklyn Nets. They have a historically great offensive trio and could be on the verge of pulling off something special once the playoffs begin.
Midway through the 2020-21 NBA season, the Nets are emerging as the favorite to come out of the Eastern Conference and, to some, the favorites to win the NBA Championship as a whole. If there’s one question about this team heading into the second half of the season, it’s whether this team’s depth will be enough to carry them through the playoffs.
While there’s not much the Nets could do – especially after trading nearly all of its draft picks to Houston in the Harden deal – it’s being reported that the team is willing to move Spencer Dinwiddie, their last substantial asset on their roster not named Harden, Kevin Durant, or Kyrie Irving.

It’s tough to predict what exactly the Nets could be targeting by shopping Dinwiddie, but you’d have to assume that it would include some sort of player that the team could use as a rental – with the bill that keeping their big three will cost the franchise over the next few years.
Dinwiddie was lost for the season earlier this season after suffering a knee injury. After a career-year last season, in which he averaged 20 points per game, Dinwiddie was averaging just seven points and four rebounds per game this year in a much smaller role.
It’s no surprise that Brooklyn will be all-in on this season after acquiring Harden. If that means trading Dinwiddie, I’m sure this front office would spend little time hesitating. Especially if they can make a deal that lands them a strong fourth option.
If the Brooklyn Nets are able to land a quality contributor at the NBA Trade Deadline, it might be enough to put them over the top as the clear favorites to win the title this season. Spencer Dinwiddie might be a good enough asset to make it happen, too.
