Heading into the 2021 NBA Trade Deadline, there’s no guarantee that we’re going to see the big-name player movement that many fans around the league are hoping for. However, one big-name that could be on the move is Victor Oladipo.
Oladipo was a part of the James Harden blockbuster deal in January, which saw him move from the Indiana Pacers to the Houston Rockets. Though, with his impending free agency, there’s a chance that he could be moved again at the NBA Trade Deadline.
According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Victor Oladipo to the Miami Heat whispers have not let up. Discussing Oladipo on a recent podcast, he notes with the threat of the Heat signing him in free agency during the offseason could lead the Rockets to move him at the NBA Trade Deadline.

During his 13 games played with the Rockets, Oladipo has been solid. He’s averaging 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game. The concerning part of his game has been his shooting percentages – during his stint with the Rockets, he’s only shooting 39 percent from the field and 29 percent from 3-point range.
Oladipo is a free agent after this season and is expected to garner quite the attention on the open market. He’s one of the bigger names set to hit free agency after Giannis Antetokounmpo and Paul George re-signed during the offseason and with the unlikelihood that Kawhi Leonard would leave the LA Clippers.
There’s a scenario where Oladipo could be the biggest name to switch teams in the NBA during the offseason. And it’s likely that the Heat will be one of the teams interested, short of them making a play for Bradley Beal – though, there’s no guarantee that the Washington Wizards would even shop him during the offseason.
