NBA Rumors: Miami Heat, New York Knicks expected to pursue Victor Oladipo.

Both the Miami Heat and New York Knicks franchises have never shied away from the big, blockbuster transaction. In part, it made them the franchises that they are today in the NBA. One player that they could both be pursuing in the weeks leading up to the NBA Trade Deadline and/or during the offseason in free agency is Victor Oladipo.

Assuming both will be interested in Oladipo during the offseason in free agency, you’d have to wonder whether they’d be willing to acquire him ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

Of course, that’s assuming that these two teams would still be interested in Oladipo. According to a report from ESPN, both teams have expressed interest in the past and could revisit that interest when he is open for the taking.

"[via ESPN]Nevertheless, Oladipo, 28, has the chance to become one of the best two-way players available at the trade deadline or in free agency. The Miami Heat and New York Knicks are among teams that have had an interest in Oladipo, and both have the salary-cap space to sign him outright in the summer."

Of course, all of that changes if one of these two teams is able to poach a bigger name on the open market. Miami has been linked to Oladipo for what feels like since his days in Oklahoma City and would be a logical fit next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Though, you’d have to wonder if the Heat would be willing to give Oladipo the big money that he will likely demand on the open market. That seems to be the biggest question for Miami. As far as the Knicks are concerned, I don’t think that would be a problem for them.

New York would openly the star presence that Oladipo would give this team and has plenty of money to spend during the offseason. He’d be a good fit next to RJ Barrett and Julius Randle and would give this team some legitimacy that they haven’t had in a very long time.

If Victor Oladipo finds his way to the open market, there will certainly be some sort of bidding war. And it’s a safe bet that the New York Knicks and Miami Heat will be involved to a certain extent.
