What a potential trade package for Kyle Lowry would look like from the Miami Heat.

At the midway point of the 2020-21 NBA season, the Miami Heat sits at 18-18 and in sixth in the Eastern Conference standings. Despite a slow and terrible all-around start to the season, the Heat will have a great opportunity to climb back into the thick of the playoff race during the second half of the season.

Miami will enter the second half just one game back of the fourth seed and four games back of the third seed. With the NBA Trade Deadline just a couple of weeks away, you can’t help but wonder if Miami should go all-in in an attempt to defend their Eastern Conference crown.

Of course, they’d have to come to the conclusion that there’s even a deal to be made out there that would catapult them into contention in the East. One plausible move that they could make, whether you believe makes them contenders or not, is attempting to acquiring Kyle Lowry.

There are a few questions regarding this ideal, however. For one, would Miami be willing to pay the price that it would cost for Lowry? And two, would the reward outweigh the risk that would come with such a deal.

We explore all those questions, beginning on whether it would make total sense for the Miami Heat to acquire Kyle Lowry.
