Is this a boom-or-bust year for the LA Clippers?

No one seems to be talking about what happens if the LA Clippers, once again, falter in the playoffs. The team may have re-signed Paul George to a long-term extension during the offseason, but Kawhi Leonard could elect to test free agency after this season.

Even though it would be unlikely that he would leave LA, you’d have to wonder what type of fallout that could take place if the Clippers, per se, lose in the second round of the playoffs again. They’d be considered a big disappointment through two seasons and could potentially be open to big changes during the offseason.

We know Steve Ballmer isn’t afraid to shake things up and could put pressure on management to make a big move if the Clippers don’t make a deep run in the playoffs. In a way, this could be a big second half of the season (including the playoffs) for the LA Clippers.
