Amar’e Stoudemire shares a story in which he wanted to put a beatdown on Steve Francis, dating back to their playing days.

Current Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Amar’e Stoudemire recently shared a story with rapper Noreaga on his ‘Drink Champs podcast’ about the time he wanted to put hands-on former Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis during their playing days.

This is how Stoudemire setup this outrageous story:

"“I had one more with Steven Francis man, I was…I was about to take his head off,” Stoudemire explained.“We was in Houston – I dunked on Yao Ming, and I was like, aaaahhhhh! Steve put his forearm in my throat, I’m like 20-years old, and kind of give me one of those.” Stoudemire motions a forearm jab. “I’m like – so I’m bout to go back at him, my teammates hold me back, Joe Johnson hold me back. Timeout called, I go to the sideline I’m like coach – I gotta get him, I ain’t finna let this slide.”"

From there the story just gets even crazier as Stoudemire explains how he finished the game and kept things cool until the next time he and “Stevie Franchise” would cross paths.

We all know the usual NBA scuffle and how it looks on the court at the moment. No one ever really looks like they want to do anything – besides bump chests or go nose-to-nose for show. Which is a good thing essentially. Every now and then things can spill over into the locker room or grudges carried around outside of arenas.

One now-infamous incident happened in 2013 between then New York Knick Carmelo Anthony and Boston Celtic Kevin Garnett. We don’t need to go into all the details but this on-court back and forth turned into Anthony making his way over to the visitor’s locker room at Madison Square Garden in an attempt to confront Garnett over what was said earlier that night.

This issue was eventually settled between the two men without fists flying, and by all accounts, both have long moved on from the incident.

Luckily for Francis, his run-in with Stoudemire has a similar ending although it did come extremely close to the two men throwing down on the streets of Phoenix. This wasn’t the only time another player wished to get his hands on Francis.

Former NBA player Stephen Jackson allegedly once attempted to choke Francis out over a “miscommunication” the two had in a club one night. This incident, again, allegedly went a little further than the incident between Francis and Stoudemire. And let’s just say Francis did not come out on the better end of this exchange. Allegedly.
