Marquee NBA players most likely to be traded: Andre Drummond, Cleveland Cavaliers

Andre Drummond is capable of giving any contending team that dominant, physical presence in the middle of their defense. Drummond averages a double-double scoring 17.5 points and grabbing 13.5 rebounds per game to go along with 1.2 blocks.

The Toronto Raptors have been rumored as one of the teams planning to pursue Drummond as he could help solidify the Raptors frontcourt along with Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby. While the Raptors have somewhat regressed this season dealing with injuries, they are still on the outside looking in when it comes to qualifying for the playoffs.

Drummond’s current contract expires at season’s end and the Cavaliers have a plethora of big men with newly acquired Jarrett Allen, Larry Nance, JaVale McGee, and Kevin Love causing Drummond to be expendable and the odd man out.

The Cavs are aware of the money he is going to command and don’t feel comfortable giving Drummond a max contract. However, there are some concerning flaws in Drummond’s game that may not fit some team’s offensive schemes.

Drummond isn’t a great shooter and won’t stretch the floor like the prototypical NBA center of today’s modern game. He isn’t a great finisher around the basket either, but he should be able to contribute more on the defensive end clogging up driving lanes and protecting the paint as an asset on the defensive end.
