This is purely a salary dump for Houston, as they unload D.J. Augustin (owed $7 million next season) – in exchange for expiring contracts (the cost to do so being Danuel House)
For the Philadelphia 76ers, receiving players would could potentially be a part of their playoff rotation would be extremely valuable – as virtually the entire roster outside the starting lineup is unproven.
Augustin serves as Shake Milton-insurance, while House gives them (somewhat) of a two-way presence on the wing, at least in comparison to Furkan Korkmaz and Matisse Thybulle.
