Whew, I know this one’s a lot to take in:
Chicago finally picks a direction here, consolidating all of their young prospects into a Zach LaVine-Brandon Ingram core – with a veteran cast of Kyle Lowry, Thaddeus “Thadgic” Young, and Steven Adams.
New Orleans reimagines its roster around Zion Williamson, as Lauri Markkanen provides a (theoretical) stretch element, while Williams is an very intriguing cost-controlled wing. Removing Adams’ salary from the books would be very helpful, too.
Toronto, losers of nine-straight and teetering on the brink, closes the Kyle Lowry-era by sending him to Chicago and picking up two former number-seven picks with pedigree in Wendell Carter and Coby White.
