Nuggets acquire Aaron Gordon

Nuggets get: Aaron Gordon

Magic get: Gary Harris, RJ Hampton, and a first-round pick

The Denver Nuggets successfully filled the role that was left vacant when Jerami Grant elected to sign with the Detroit Pistons last offseason. Aaron Gordon will bring energy, athleticism, and depth to a Nuggets team that could use a spark heading towards the playoff push.

Considering that they only had to give up Gary Harris and RJ Hampton, it was a good gamble to make – especially if they view Gordon as a part of their future. Gordon still hasn’t played to the best of his ability and took a bit of a step back this season in Orlando. The hope is that he will be rejuvenated with the change of scenery.

Plus, playing next to Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic will certainly make the game a lot easier for Gordon. It’ll be interesting to see how the team elects to use him but this is a good trade all-around.
