5. Denver Nuggets

It’s no surprise at the Denver Nuggets will be viewed as one of the biggest threats to the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs, should they meet. This is a team that made it to the Western Conference Finals a year ago in the restart bubble and one that has only gotten better since.

They acquired Aaron Gordon and JaVale McGee at the NBA trade deadline and are currently one of the hottest teams in the league. They are one of the likely opponents that could face the Lakers in the first round, assuming LeBron James and Anthony Davis don’t catapult the Lakers up the West standings in the playoff push.

The Nuggets might not have the firepower to dethrone on the Lakers, but if they aren’t 100 percent healthy, don’t be surprised if the Nuggets push the defending champs in a seven-game series.
